"The View From the Phlipside" is a media commentary program airing on WRFA-LP, Jamestown NY. It can be heard Tuesday through Friday just after 8 AM and 5 PM. The following are scripts which may not exactly match the aired version of the program. Mostly because the host may suddenly choose to add or subtract... Continue Reading →
Smokin' Aces (2006) - Rated R - OK, start by thinking Tarantino. Think Grindhouse. Then take away any sense of humor, any wit or any real style. What you're left with is "Smokin' Aces". It's violent, its obscenity laden, it's bloody in the extreme. Add in, shall we call it, leisurely pacing and you end... Continue Reading →

Sunshine Cleaning (2008) - A good cast can sometimes (not always) overcome a weak script. Amy Adams and Emily Blunt manage to do just that with an otherwise predictable sweet story. For some it is just the latest in a beloved story cycle while for others it is a disjointed shambles of a movie. When I... Continue Reading →
American Movie - (1999) Imagine Bill and Ted meets "Waiting for Guffman" by way of "Troll 2". The story of a dreamer who wants nothing more than to make a movie. Sadly he has no talent for the task and neither does anyone else around him. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in... Continue Reading →

(Starting this week I am combining my three scripts into a single blog post. The task of creating multiple posts to be published on different days and then trying to remember to link them on my Facebook page is just more than I want to deal with any more. I've inserted breaks so you can... Continue Reading →
