Time to Get Real – Week of September 15

weight-loss-3

In sports this is called a “trap week”.  The week where you’re feeling good, focused on something other than what’s right in front of you and it bites you.

This was the second very good week in a row.  I can begin to feel the changes (pants are a little looser, on some of them I can move down to the next belt hole) and I know that what I’m doing is working.

It is inevitably this week that I mess up.  I relax.  I get sloppy.  So I need to be on my guard and not fall into the trap.

The food journaling makes a huge difference.  Sigh.  I hate having to admit that.  It’s boring but at the same time there is a certain “game” aspect of it.  If I do “this” and “this” can I still come in at or below my calorie count?  Exercise can become part of that game.  There’s a score and a daily winner/loser aspect of it too.  Is that great weight loss thinking?  Maybe not.  Certainly not getting too caught up in the daily win/loss concept.  This is a long term project, not a short term one.  But anything that helps me string days together toward that long term is a good thing.

Exercise is still spotty.  Eating has been quite good.

The results were excellent.

Now to just make sure I avoid the trap.

My resolution remains :

I want to am going to be The Guy again.

The next milestone is getting back below 190.  I will get there and go on.
