Time to Change – Plan?

weight-loss-3

I have always maintained that sometimes you need to hit me with a two by four between the eyes to get my attention.

I’ve chronicled my struggles here.  To be honest, there are days when it’s just embarrassing to post that I’ve gained the weight back again.  The two hundred pound barrier might as well be a thousand feet high and built out of steel.  I just can’t seem to breach it.  It makes me feel foolish, and a failure.

I hate those feelings.

So credit to a young woman (22 years old) named Miche (I listened to a video and it appears she pronounces that “Meesh”) at the blog Vegan Miche. I don’t think I’ll be going vegan anytime soon but when I popped over to her blog (after she had visited mine) I saw a single word that took me between the eyes.

Plan.

Miche has a plan.  A plan that has been working for her.  A plan that helps her stay on track and gives her goals to focus on through it all.

Do I have a plan?

Ummmmm………

When I lost all the weight the first time, I had a plan.  Not a vague “Eat less, exercise more” kind of a plan.  I knew what I was going to eat, how I was adjusting portion size and specific kinds of exercise.  You know “The Guy” I keep talking about?  He was the product of “The Plan”.

For some reason, I had completely overlooked that step.  Like I said, sometimes it takes a two by four.

So now I’m putting together my new plan.

In the meantime, do me a favor and ramp up Miche’s blog traffic for a while.  She’s a smart young lady.

One with a plan.

Onward.

My resolution remains:

This guy – 2009

I want to am going to be The Guy again.  The Guy weighed 175 pounds and looked good and felt good.  And his blood pressure was good and his blood tests were good. (New photo of The Guy)
