way. I thought a quick note of explanation might be in order.

A
variety of events in my life converged, creating a situation where I
had to make the choice to shut down the radio program. I’ve
discussed that before. But beyond the issues I mentioned in that
previous post, there were other things going on. The largest issue was
moving to a new house. The reason for the move was benign, if a
little odd, but it is a process which disrupts everyday life down to
the roots.

At
the moment I can not find all my clothes. We have sorted through the
boxes sitting in our garage and other rooms and there is no sign of
such a box. Fear not! I do have a limited selection, so no one will
need to see me traipsing around in my birthday suit. But it’s
puzzling and annoying.

My
office has all the furniture in it, but the paper, files, writing
implements and all the little bits required to get any work done are
still in boxes. At the moment, it’s hard to get into my office
because a set of folding closet doors are leaning against a wall in
front of the door.

Then
you add in all the other “just moved” issues and life gets
complicated. I need something. It’s in a box. Which box? No one
knows. I need something. Oh, it’s unpacked and put away. Where?

I
have driven to the old house (which is about 4 miles from the new
one) twice so far. Was less than a block away before I realized what
I had done both times. Meanwhile, the commutes to the schools where I
am substitute teaching have all changed. Some are shorter (I could
walk to one now), while others are longer. So my morning routine is
upset.

took the step and became cord-cutters! After 13 (very good) years
with Dish, we have moved to a Roku with Hulu and Sling as out primary
television providers. The reason was simple, economics. We are saving
money every month. Which is a good thing. That change comes with a
challenge. Now I have to switch between services depending on what
programming I want to watch. Plus, it’s a whole new way of
accessing it. So half the time I can’t even find my favorite shows.

and the depression that grows from a process now headed toward year

had to give. For the moment, and only for a moment, it’s this blog.
It also gives some time (a snatched minute here and there) to
consider what’s next here. The movies reviews will resume but move
to Friday. Seems more logical to me. Why not give you a great idea
for a movie at a time when you can get a copy and watch it? I’m
playing around with some other ideas for content as well.
