Just a quick note on giving thanks.
I have been blessed in many ways over the years of my life. Where those blessings originate I will leave to your own beliefs. But whatever the source, I am too often complacent about the wonderful things in my life.
I married my college sweetheart, and for more than 40 years we have found a way forward together. My partner, my friend, the great love of my life.
I was blessed with a child, now an adult. That person is everything that I hoped for, and much more than I ever anticipated. My dedication to my writing and creative side comes from Rion putting the spurs in my side.
I am a stroke survivor. 9 anniversaries of that event have passed. I must never forget that every day is a blessing.
Scattered across the face of the planet are family and friends. We are not all of one mind on any subject, but my life would be so much less without any and all of them.
There are thousands of people who have seen or heard me perform, speak or write who tell me that my creativity gave them pause, or thought, or pleasure.
I have a safe home, food, clothes, and all the things needed to live a secure life in this wonderful and deeply flawed nation. That I am able to say that last part in a public arena is worth great thanks as well.
It’s been a tough couple of years. But through it all, there has been much to thankful for.
And I am.
Peace
