Terminal
(2018) – A stylish neo-noir story of hitmen, a dying man who may
think of suicide, and the mysterious Mr. Franklyn. It’s a strange
mish-mash of style over storytelling. Margot Robbie is
interesting, but the rest of the cast are stuck in strange,
uncomfortable roles. Simon Pegg plays the dying man with a terrible
secret, while Mike Meyers (yes, “Wayne’s World”/”Austin
Powers”) plays an odd, mysterious janitor who is more than he
seems (as is obvious from the first minute he hits the screen).

The
story gets weirder and weirder with each passing moment. The ending
was bizarre, unpleasant, and the perfect reason never to watch the
movie again. At the same time, the movie is visually gorgeous.
This strange mix of graphic novel, noir, and satire ends up never
pulling it all together. The rating is on the visual qualities and
Robbie’s performance alone.
