I’m getting better at making sure my camera travels with me. The camera, yes. Fully charged batteries? Not always. With a ready memory card? Umm, also not always. But I don’t let that get me down! Here’s some photography for April.
Back in February, I gave myself the assignment of “Richmond From Above”. The idea was all photos had to be of things below the level of my knees. And I found some really cool images along the way. Inevitably, I’d reverse the challenge! And here are some results. I was downtown (sadly because my wife was having an operation. (Before anyone freaks out, I had her permission to wander. It wasn’t life-threatening, but it took five hours.)

Richmond is a city with a rich, and by American standards, long history. This positioning of the old City Hall and the relatively new Children’s Hospital struck me as the perfect expression of Richmond then and now.

This place struck me with its unusual roof line!

The map of the city at one of the newer bus stops struck me. We are all strangers to one another, even as we live side by side.

I’ve mentioned before how I love the many green areas to be found in Richmond. The parks get a lot of attention (well deserved!), but there are plenty of little oases to be found. This one is less than a block from the hospital. Very serene.

The perfect geometry of this stairwell at a parking garage struck me against the gorgeous blue sky.
