Quick Reviews – Independence Day 2, The Accountant, Suicide Squad

Independence Day – Resurgence  (2016) – Lacking any of the sense of humor of the original, this turns into a dull, bloated excuse for even more spectacular battle scenes.  Forgetting along the way that the battle scenes weren’t what made the original so much fun.  A real disappointment.

Rating – ** Not Impressed

The Accountant  (2016) It gets a little lost by trying to run too many storylines at the same time, and it gets the Autism part wrong as well. Beyond that, it’s a pretty good thriller that will carry you along.  Affleck does a really nice job here.

Rating – *** Worth A Look

Suicide Squad (2016) -I didn’t think I was going to like this movie going in.  It did nothing to turn me around on the subject.  A confused script with no clear story arc, some really uninspired dialogue, and some truly bad directorial choices mean this movie is exactly what I was afraid it was.
